Self-Assessments of Cognitive Performance in Schizophrenia: The Role of Impaired Momentary Judgement

AUTHORS: Michelle Miller, Amy Pinkham, Colin Depp, Raeanne Moore, Philip Harvey

ABSTRACT:
Self-assessment of cognition, clinical symptoms, and everyday functioning is impaired in neuropsychiatric conditions, including schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Self-assessment paradigms often ask participants to generate global judgments regarding abilities after a significant amount of time since task completion, without capturing subjective momentary decisions regarding performance. In this study we used EMA to examine both momentary and cumulative judgments regarding cognitive performance.
