Smartphone-Based Assessment of Real-World Sedentary Behavior in Schizophrenia

AUTHORS: Martin Strassnig, Philip Harvey, Colin Depp, Eric Granholm

ABSTRACT:
The health of people with schizophrenia (SCZ) is poor, leading to short lifespans. Sedentary behavior is an independent health risk and people with SCZ are more sedentary than healthy controls (HC), compounding their already unhealthy lifestyle. The prevalence and pattern of objectively measured sedentary behavior in SCZ, however, has not been determined.
